Muna Mingole - Dipita

Release: May 30st 2008

Dipita (Hope)

brings forward two great rhythms, lively and refreshing from the tradition of Cameroon: the makossa (in Makossa ma Kwan , Mumi and Ses'a Longue ), and the bikutsi (in Village , Oa nde we and Petite Fille ). But Muna Mingole also breaks grounds: in the song A ndol'am , she mixes together, with brightness, rhythms from Cameroon and Senegal and in the song Afrika , she intertwine South African and West African music patterns to better jazz it up.
Limpid and versatile is the voice of Muna, who sings in Duala, as well as in French and English, words of hope, solidarity, faith, love, and of course, she sings Africa. The title refers to hope, and the album refers also to the colour Blue, which represents for Muna a symbol of values that inhabits humanity, values such as hope, human communication, courage and perseverance.
